The simpler the product, the more impressive it is. Please repeat this sentence 10 times.

You must have seen many multifunctional products before. To put it bluntly, seeing multifunctional products gives me a headache.

Many post-80s generation people have played Nintendo game consoles with plug-in cards. I loved playing them when I was a child, and I also bought some old games to play with when I grew up.

It always has a type of game card that likes to make a collection of four to five hundred games, and there may be over twenty versions of a game.

To be honest, this product is a bit poorly made.

I would rather create a collection of six in one games, each classic, or simply create a single game, like Super Mary, which is a great product.

Making products is not about eating hot pot, just throwing everything in. Make sure to remember that the simpler the product, the better.

If you go to WeChat or Tiktok, the product will be complicated in the later stage, but you can still feel that it is a simple product.

Being able to create simple products indicates that you have a stronger ability to grasp user needs.

Including my own Mi Ke Circle, Mi Ke Circle essentially only has two functions: one is information flow – everyone’s dynamic articles, and the other is watching classes – the place to deliver our products.

Perhaps some people have seen and obtained early products, with a wide range of categories. Initially, the homepage was full of selling courses, and later on, the community was established.

But a few years ago when we were doing the Mi Ke Circle, I believed that although users downloaded our app to learn, human nature fundamentally did not love learning.

People like to read interesting things. If you come into the homepage every day and see the same course introduction, over time, you won’t read it again. What users need more is information flow.

So we turned our product into a community, a social tool. This is the simplest part of this product, everything else is auxiliary.

Of course, it’s not that all multifunctional devices are not feasible.

The prerequisite for making multifunctional products is that the design power of the product is strong enough. How to highlight the most important functions through design is the key.

So, are you strong in user demand mining or product design?
